Passionfruit-Vanilla Panna Cotta

Panna cotta is something special. It's a delicious and delicate Italian dessert that is just as much versatile. So versatile that's it's been made into sweet and savory dishes around the world. Here is a recipe that I have been using for years. It's creamy, not too sweet nor too gelatinous.

All in all it will keep you wanting to make it again and again. period.

Vanilla Panna Cotta Cream


540g cream

72g sugar

1/2 pkg gelatin

1/2 vanilla pod

1 passionfruit


In a saucepan, boil the cream with the vanilla pod and sugar.

While cream is boiling, bloom the gelatin in just enough water to cover the gelatin.

When cream has boiled, add the gelatin once it has bloomed.

Strain into a container/measuring glass and let sit for about 5 minutes.

Pour into your desired dish.

Refrigerate at least for 6 hours.


Before serving top with fresh passionfruit and a suggestion: fresh whipped cream.
